The day has come for our shop and bar to open its doors!
We’d love you to join us for the grand opening this Friday from 3:30 – 7:30pm. We’ll be serving free tastings of our craft beer and range of liqueurs (limoncello, chocolate, cinnamon etc…) and to those who get there before 5:30pm, the first full glass will be free!
R20 a glass of beer or Dragon alcoholic ginger beer and R15 per Simoncello organic liqueur thereafter. Light snacks will also be served.
The address is Unit G6, Salt Circle Arcade, Albert Road, Salt River…at the Salt River Circle across the road from the Old Biscuit Mill. There is secure parking at the back in Kent road.
Hope to see you there. ♡
Hip hip and nog ‘n piep for the Market at the Palms on its second birthday today! We celebrated in style with Lonesome Dave, forty food traders, Die Kattebak vintage market and a cook-off with Spekko rice. Too much fun!
At the Simoncello stand, we introduced our solar gardens with our very own solar candles, designed by Simon himself. Lots of the little gardens were snapped up by loving new owners. We hope they bring you as much delight as they brought us while creating them.♡
And of course our liqueurs…with raspberry (back by popular demand), limoncello, naartjie, chocolate and cinnamon flavours there was lots of yumminess to choose from.
Lastly, an update on our shop in the Salt Circle Arcade. Our shop front is in progress, and we’re hoping to open doors in about six weeks’ time. Watch this space!
PS. Huge apologies for the silence on this page – we’ve been busy bees (but yes, that’s no excuse, tut tut).
…we’ll be trading at the Blue Bird Garage Food and Goods Market (Albertyn Rd, Muizenberg, 4-10pm) for the first time!
If you’re looking for a wholesome night out away from dem dingy pubs and clubs, this is the place to be. The beautifully converted warehouse is light and fresh and abuzz with life – last Friday I shared a table with a chameleon, a baby chicken and two dogs, as well as my delightful human companions. As for tasty treats, there’re plenty to choose from: curries, burgers, wraps, cakes, brownies, veggie juices, falafels, pizzas…you name it, it’ll be there.
So come and say hi and try our organic liqueurs – limoncello, naartjie, raspberry, cinnamon and vanilla…chococello shots in raw organic chocolate cups…and organic lemon curd…♡
Oh, and we’re running a very special ‘special’ on chococello shots…say no more, you’ll have to come and see for yourself…let’s just say it’s somewhat ridiculous!
Hey hey hey, happy 2013! Here’s hoping it’s one of your best yet. Remember, whether times are good or bad, happy or sad, Simoncello will be there.
Find us at the Market at The Palms every Saturday from 09h00-14h00; City Bowl Market on Hope every Thursday from 16h30-20h30; Slowmarket Stellenbosch & Willowbridge at Oude Libertas Amphitheatre every Saturday from 09h00-14h00, and monthly at the The Planet Art Creative Centre for the Darling Creative Market (the next one is this Saturday from 10h00-14h00).
We’re looking forward to seeing our regulars again, and to meeting many new faces in this fabulous new year.
What a weekend! Simoncello and the summer sun seem to have a good thing going. Think summer, think limoncello on crushed ice, mmm mmm mmm…
On Saturday we joined the beautiful Market at The Palms. This is a delightful market where old fashioned goodness from the platteland is what’s hot right now…so it was no surprise that our lemon curd was what tickled the fancy of these marketeers, selling out in no time at all.
As for the River Club Boutique Market yesterday, we were BLOWN AWAY! A complete and utter SELL OUT of limoncello, naartjie, cinnamon and chococello. Woh! Smiles all round.
Thank you all for your support – we hope you enjoy our products.

We’re just loving being part of the new City Bowl Market on Hope on Thursday evenings, not to mention the Stellenbosch Slowmarket on Saturday mornings. Our very first day at the Slowmarket last Saturday was A+ amazing! A RECORD NUMBER of chococello shots was sold, and lemon curd and limoncello were hot on their heels. Yeehah!
Oh yes, there is a new member of the Simoncello family – crema di limone, or lemon curd, and it’s to-die-for doll.
Each one of the cute little bottles is individually decorated with an Ebony&Ivory ribbon – just choose the one that suits your mood of the day.
And in case you haven’t yet uncovered the versatility of this creamy lemony yummy sweetness…it’s great on toast for breakfast, lunch and supper; use it as a filling for a vanilla sponge cake, cupcakes, home made donuts or lemon meringue pie; add some to whipped cream to make a lemon mousse; spread it thickly over crumpets dripping with butter; add a dollop to greek yoghurt for breakfast, or to ice-cream for pud, or to a blueberry, creme fraiche and nutella pancake for tea; use it as a topping for a lemon cheescake; mix it with some tarragon and you have a delish fish sauce; or just eat it by the spoonful out the jar when no-one’s looking…
You really can’t go wrong, whatever you choose to do with it…
Simoncello – all in the name of a smile or three. Mmm mmm mmm.
On the 4th of September, Simon shared some of the good Simoncello vibage on air at UCT Radio 104.5 FM. Who knows, he may be on again soon – watch this space…!
